It's just typical that after a competition I declare that I'm having a break and next thing you know I have a cold.
I've been told that this is generally the case, when you put yourself under a high load of stress and pressure for a prolonged period of time, the moment you take a holiday you get sick. I guess my immune system is run down and now it has a chance to catch up.
My nose started running on Monday and I gladly took Tuesday off of training.
Funnily enough by Wednesday I was getting restless and therefore felt I had to go to training last night.
It seems to me that my body is used to exerting itself nearly on a daily basis that if I take too many days off I'm a bit on edge, meaning I need to burn some energy.
Training for me is my way of dealing with the stress from work. It releases the bodies natural endorphins and makes you feel euphoric after wards. In other words as much as I would like to take two weeks off of training, generally after a few days I cant wait to be back.
