Olympic Selections

Last night at training wasn't the best night for me. My body is still trying to adapt to the regular load of training on a Thursday then following it up on Friday. Alana and I have both been pushing hard this last month, training four nights Taekwondo and then still doing cross training outside of this.
I know that I've been struggling to find the intensity I need and every night my legs feel 'heavy'. So for this weekend Im going to focus completely on recovery starting with a massage this morning.
Then on Sunday at Victoria university Footscray is the third qualification event for the London Olympics. Im going along to check it out and support Pete, who's entering to get more experience with the Lajust electronic scoring system. I think its a great idea and I would have entered myself if I had felt fit and ready. All that time off with the hamstring has taken me back further than I had originally thought.
I think it will be a great event as Australias best will be there and I may get a chance to learn something, especially about those in my division.
As for the purpose of the event, it may be all for nothing as our two Taekwondo organizations have not come to an agreement to resolve their differences. From what I have been told the Australian governing Taekwondo body must have both AOC and WTF approval and without this Australian athletes can't attend the 2012 London Olympics. Sadly, I think this would be terrible for those who have the potential to represent our country and may miss out over politics of our sport. For me personally as an athlete its not so important as to which organization is running the sport but that I have every opportunity to represent my country in all the events that are available to me. So I hope things can be resolved and we can see Australian Taekwondo at London!
