The last few weeks I've felt pretty sore even though Ive hardly been at the gym. It's mainly been my back and hammies which is partly due to the injury and my goal of increasing my flexibility. So yesterday I finally got in to see my Myotherapist, Len for a well overdue massage.
On average I would see him almost weekly to loosen everything up but since I've had the hamstring injury I traded him for the Physio.
I find him very professional and because I've been seeing him for over a year, he understands exactly what I need. Len doesn't muck around and when I get him to work on my hips and legs it hurts like hell but I always feel amazing after wards.
This time was no different and later that night I'd felt freer and looser than I had in months, reminding me how important it is to do this as part of my recovery sessions.
Seeing this was my last weekend off before heading back to work I'd organized to get out of Melbourne and hit the beach. The last time I was in Torquay was more than 5 years ago. There was a time when my friends and I headed up routinely a few times a year just to get out of Melbourne and relax in the sun. Though it seems all the more difficult these days to get so many people organized to meet in the one spot but this time it was a success with 3 cars going.
Thankfully the beach wasn't to over crowded and we found a nice relaxing spot to unpack the Esky and enjoy lunch in the sun.
As it turned out the water was far from warm (typical in Victoria) and after four hours of battling the wind it was time for fish n chips and making our back to home.
With that I can say I'm looking forward to returning to work and my training routine so my holidays have done the trick. Im ready and primed for 2011!
