British Selections

One week to go.
That's all that's left till we have the British selections tournament in Melbourne. Four weeks ago when it was confirmed to go ahead, I looked at were I was personally and considered what I wanted to work on to be prepared for this competition. Now looking back, my lead up training has been average.
Now with one week to go, training will be light 45 minute sessions with plenty of recovery. No time to gain any fitness or really work on improving anything.
I am a little bit concerned as I believe the level of this competition will be quite high with fighters coming from across the country to compete. It's been 9 months since I've competed in Australia in the open division (nationals last year) so my intentions for entering this competition are to see were I'm at within my division, to learn what I need to work on to improve myself and to get a feel for the open division as it varies somewhat to the para division.
I hope that by entering this competition, I shall be better prepared for the up coming Vics in three weeks and looking further ahead the Nationals in October.

Finally a special congratulations for the Team Carlo (and team Victoria) squads after returning from the Korean Open and having done exceptionally well!
Excellent guys, keep up the good work.

Steve
